SGTH Hospital in Swat, once a prominent healthcare institution in the Malakand Division, now grapples with significant challenges stemming from poor interior infrastructure and neglect. 🏥 Despite its numerous blocks and departments staffed with qualified doctors, the condition of well-equipped beds has deteriorated drastically. 🛌 At night, the wards become infested with rats, wreaking havoc by gnawing on bed wires and contaminating patient food supplies. 🐀 This poses serious health risks to patients and disrupts their sleep, exacerbating their already compromised health conditions. My experience in the pulmonology ward highlighted further issues with inadequate facilities. 🚽 Out of the seven beds, only one toilet was accessible, and its condition was subpar for accommodating seven patients and their attendants. 💧 The locking of two toilets further compounds the problem, creating discomfort and inconvenience for patients and their caregivers. Urgent attention is warranted to address these pressing issues and enhance the hospital's infrastructure, ensuring a safe and conducive environment for patient care. 💡🚨 Comprehensive measures are needed to prevent rat infestations, improve bed conditions, and ensure adequate facilities for patients and their attendants. Only through concerted efforts towards infrastructure improvement and prevention can SGTH Hospital reclaim its status as a leading healthcare provider in the region.
